“I was proud to represent the USA at the international level of Sambo.”

After winning the Dutch Combat Sambo Championships and the USA Sambo Nationals this year, Bay Jiu-Jitsu Berkeley coach Reilly Bodycomb qualified for the Sambo Pan-American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay, held earlier this month. Reilly defeated opponents from Mexico, Costa Rica, and Columbia to secure the gold medal.

Reilly is one of only two Americans to win both the Sambo Nationals and the Pan-Ams this year. He is now training for the Sambo World Championships which will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria in November. Good luck coach Reilly!

“I scored with a sacrifice throw, a firemans carry, and a pin, but I won all my matches via submission.”
